Jim Miller vs. Michael Chiesa booket for UFC Fight Night 80

A lightweight bout between Jim Miller (25-6 MMA, 14-5 UFC) and Michael Chiesa (12-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) is in the works for December.

The fight, which “UFC Tonight” first reported, is targeted for UFC Fight Night 80.

The event, which kicks off a three-day stretch of UFC events, takes place Dec. 10 at Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The entire card streams on UFC Fight Pass.

No fights have been formally announced for the card.

Miller is just outside the top 15 and is an honorable mention in the NOS Energy Drink MMA lightweight rankings. Chiesa is unranked.

Miller recently halted a two-fight skid, which included a decision loss to Beneil Dariush and a knockout defeat to Donald Cerrone, with a split-decision victory over Danny Castillo in July. The 32-year-old, who fights for the 21st time under the UFC banner while in his eighth year in the promotion, has past wins over the likes of Joe Lauzon, Melvin Guillard, Gleison Tibau and Charles Oliveira.

He now meets “The Ultimate Fighter 15” winner Chiesa, who’s won three out of his past four bouts. The 27-year-old fan favorite recently rebounded from a TKO loss to Lauzon, which netted both competitors “Fight of the Night” bonuses, with a unanimous-decision victory over Mitch Clarke.
