Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson: "I think I have done enough to get the next title shot"
- The transition to MMA was a big challenge for sure. Going from a "one discipline" fight sport to a "multi discipline" fight sport requires many more hours on the mat then the single discipline sport!! My main training partner at home at Upstate Karate/Pitch Black MMA is Karl Reed. He's a stud, 6'3 wrestler that can kick your head off!! While in New York, of course Chris Weidman is who I train with!! HE'S A BEAST!!!!
I typically train 2 times a day, 6 days a week. Grappling (wrestling and Bjj) is approx 3/4 of my training.
Taktikken mot Rory MacDonald og tittelkampen mellom Robbie Lawler og Tyron Woodley
- My game plan was the same as all my opponents, keep it on my feet. With Rory I had to be a bit more mobile tho. Tyron Woodley has a punchers chance against Lawler, but I have Lawler winning the fight!
I'd really like to fight on the November Madison Square Garden card with Chris. I won't say that I'll only fight if it's for the title, but I will say that I think I've done enough to get the next title shot!
